How do I prepare for my makeup application?
One week prior to your appointment, make sure that you are consistent with your skincare regimen (cleansing and moisturizing AM & PM), drinking plenty of water, using a gentle exfoliator twice a week, and cleaning up your brows (tweezing, trimming, waxing, or threading). Keep in mind, if you plan on getting your eyebrows waxed, make SURE that you do this 2 weeks before your appointment otherwise the makeup won’t stick around your brows!
Do you have a studio or do you come to me?
I am a freelance makeup artist, so currently I do not have a studio. However, most clients come to my home (in West Bloomfield) for bridal trials or special event appointments. If you prefer me to come to your home, I can absolutely do that for my travel fee of $25 + 80 cents per mile. For weddings, I travel to the location that everyone will be getting ready at!
Are there any additional fees for having to bring an assistant?
No! The only additional fee will be the same travel fee of $25 + 80 cents per mile.
Do you have a minimum # of girls required to book a wedding?
No! I am more than happy to service small and large wedding parties, as well as, just the bride.
How far do you travel?
I travel anywhere less than 2 hours away from me.
How long does the makeup application take?
Each client typically takes me about 45 minutes to complete.
Bridal trials typically take up to 90 minutes. That gives us enough time to discuss the look you are envisioning, fill out an intake form which provides me with the information on the day of, and allows us some grace time at the end in case we want to make any adjustments to the look until you are 100% confident in it.
Do you do hair?
No, I do not. However, I can connect you to a few really great hair stylists! Send me a DM on Instagram @haleybensonbeauty and I will be happy to share their pages with you.
How far in advance should I schedule my bridal trial?
This is up to you! I would recommend 3 months before your wedding.
If I have a big bridal party or a short time frame, do you have an assistant?
Yes, I have three assistant artists that work alongside me for weddings who share the same artistry style as I do. Their names are Madison, Taylor, and Mackenzie. They are chosen at random based on availability.
What form of payments do you accept?
Cash or Zelle.
What do I need for my bridal trial?
Inspiration photos of the look you want (save from my Instagram page @haleybensonbeauty or Pinterest) and your payment of $95.
Do you do airbrush makeup?
I currently offer traditional (brushes) makeup application only. I believe it gives me more control and ability to customize each look based on each persons skin type.
What makeup brands do you use?
I use high-end, professional grade products to ensure longevity and the best results. Some of my most used makeup brands are Kryolan, Inglot, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Charlotte Tilbury, and Viseart.
How long will my makeup last?
Your makeup will last all day. The only touch up that should be needed throughout the day would be your lips and I give you a touch up kit with a sample jar of your lipstick and a lip wand for when that is needed.
